Contrast Sensitivity Glasses

Contrast sensitivity is the ability to distinguish low contrast images in the real-world (a street sign on a dark roadway, text on a page, the step height for a sidewalk at night). Decreased contrast sensitivity and the inability to make an accurate distinction between objects and their background are common conditions associated with aging as well as eye diseases such as Macular Degeneration, Cataracts and Glaucoma. Filtering the short, higher energy wavelengths of the visible spectrum with yellow and light orange filters can help increase contrast sensitivity.

NoIR filters offer 100% UV protection and are formulated to absorb specific wavelengths of visible and in some cases infrared light to help provide relief from visual symptoms associated with Contrast Sensitivity.
